Efficient Real-Time Controller Design Test Bench for Power Converter Applications

In order to evaluate and validate the latest trends of power-hardware-in-loop (PHIL) test setup, dc-dc buck converter is modelled within a real-time system where simulation model exported FPGA NI PXIe with time step 250 ns. PHIL setup allows high flexibility, benefit graphical programming, advanced investigation control for without any safety concern possibility testing against situations that rarely occur in field. The LabVIEW-FPGA has been used as prototyping environment digital controller help OPAL-RT eHS software hardware. Such collaboration enables other such MATLAB/Simulink, Multisim, PLECS, PSIM, LabVIEW Co-simulation accelerating innovative research development. This work presents more efficient effectual PXIE platform at least ten times capability. paper highlights hardware-software toolset’s performance proposed methodology by addressing regulation issues converters. For satisfactory reliable operation study evaluated different parametric variations under closed-loop PI controller. Finally, executed model’s effectiveness closed loop real DC loads validated through hardware-in-loop (HIL) laboratory setup.
